| - On his quest to save his friends, Shion visited through a dimensional portal in The Great Deep. Upon crossing through to the other side, he was immediately accosted by border control demons Schwartz and Egger, who called for paperwork allowing entry into Demon World. The warrior swiftly dealt with them with magic and headed to the centre of Demonopolis, speaking to The Shame Inn landlord Drum. This information led Shion to the Pitcastle where he defeated Grimomen and freed the villagers, with the portal dropping them all back off in Monster World. It is currently unknown who is the ruler of the dimension now.
- The Demon World (in Japanese: 鬼の世界, Oni no sekai), known by many names including the "Underworld" (in Japanese: アンダーワールド, Andāwārudo), "Hell" (in Japanese: 地獄, Jigoku), the "Netherworld" (in Japanese: 冥界, Meikai), and the "Demonic World" (in Japanese: 悪魔の世界, Akuma no sekai), is the demonic world of pure evil that is a both a parallel and a threat to the Human World (Earth), and it primarily serves as the dark, negative afterlife for evil humans (as mentioned in some of the library files; however, the games never provide any actual proof of that) and home to demons within the Devil May Cry universe.
- The Demon World, or Hell, is Neuro's home universe, where other demons like him reside as well. The reason why Neuro left the Demon World was because he had already eaten all of its mysteries, as well as saying that they only had "one kind of flavor": simple, bland and repetitive; and that only in the Human World his need for the ultimate puzzle could be satisfied. Although not much is known about Hell's ecosystem, creatures, and such, there are many random facts that Neuro has given about the Demon World that give a general idea of what that universe is like.
- On Fargett, Asmodeus, angry at his fate, stole the Space-Time Laboratory and managed to transfer the entire building to the Demon World, most likely by accident. He decided that he would rule the Demon World, as well as experiment on the native lifeforms. Now with a portal to Roak at his access, Asmodeus went about plotting an invasion. Unlike the Muah, Asmodeus would be happy with any world to rule, and decided Roak was as good as any. He spent most of his time building up his demon army, while continuing his experiments.
- Demon World (魔界, Makai) is the world where demons live. It is an alternate dimension that King Enma sealed off with a powerful barrier which forbade any demon ranked A Class or higher to cross. For many years it was ruled by 3 kings: Toshin Raizen, Mukuro and Yomi, though not in the literal sense. There was no set government, only territories over which the 3 demons ruled; these territories were formed out of the natural chaotic state of the environment. Despite the order that they brought in accordance to the times and intricacies, they could be attacked at any time and no rules would be broken because there weren't any to begin with. In other words: the rule over a territory all came down to who had the greatest strength and ambition, much akin to the real-life criminal underworld.

Despite the order that they brought in accordance to the times and intricacies, they could be attacked at any time and no rules would be broken because there weren't any to begin with. In other words: the rule over a territory all came down to who had the greatest strength and ambition, much akin to the real-life criminal underworld. Known inhabitants include: Hiei, Yukina, Yoko Kurama, Raizen, Yomi, Mukuro etc. Each territory had its own individual laws, as established by its rulers, until the establishment of the Demon World Tournament, whose victor would unify Demon World under him/her as the supreme ruler. Raizen, Mukuro, and Yomi are acknowledged as the three kings because out of all the kingdoms in the land, they have the greatest influence and strength to negotiate a deal with King Enma to allow Yusuke, Kurama, and Hiei to return to Demon World. Demon City, which is occupied by the Four Saint Beasts, and Hyouga the Island of the Koorime are distinct territories that did not appear to be under direct control of any of the 3 demon kings. The Forest of Fools, an area mentioned by Hiei, is a territory where civilian Youkai live peacefully. According to Koenma, Demon World is rather like an endless basement, with its strongest demons living deeper and deeper within its depths. With its surface inhabited by demons of fair power and notoriety, demons within its ultimate depths are said to be god like and mere embodiments of destruction. The sky in Demon World seems to be crimson, with dark clouds during daytime. Much of this world seems to be terrains, including untouched wastelands, forests, mountainous regions, deserts etc. However, despite this natural and primitive environment, Demon World's technology surpasses that of Human World, as healing chambers and artificial birth machines have been employed by the three kings on different occasions. Also, Demon World seems to have cities with technologies such as television as seen during the Demon World Tournament.
- On Fargett, Asmodeus, angry at his fate, stole the Space-Time Laboratory and managed to transfer the entire building to the Demon World, most likely by accident. He decided that he would rule the Demon World, as well as experiment on the native lifeforms. Meanwhile, as the Muah of Roak tried to open a gate back to Earth using the Eye of Truth, they accidentally opened a gate to the Demon World by accident. This caused demons to flood into the world, devestating the planet. The gate was eventually closed, but the damage was done. Demons from the demon world could enter Roak whenever they pleased. Now with a portal to Roak at his access, Asmodeus went about plotting an invasion. Unlike the Muah, Asmodeus would be happy with any world to rule, and decided Roak was as good as any. He spent most of his time building up his demon army, while continuing his experiments. Eventually, Roddick Farrence, with the Eye of Truth, managed to enter the Demon World to confront Asmodeus and take a sample of his blood. Eventually his party found the Time & Space Laboratory and secured the sample they needed. With Asmodeus dead, they had no reason to stay in the Demon World and left.

The Demon World is an extension of the original darkness that covered the universe before the coming of light. It is in the Demon World where natural demons are born and also seems to serve as a source of power for the demons born there (or at least their power is reduced when they are cut off from the Demon World). Most of the Demon World that is seen does not hold to the same natural/physical laws as the Human World. It is generally a dark and desolate place, and incredibly dangerous. The Demon World would also appear to serve as the dark, negative afterlife for "evil" humans.
Throughout the series Neuro tells about his life in the Demon World, but this usually comes off as nonsensical, so it is unknown if this is true information. Moreover, through Neuro's explanations, the Demon World is always portrayed like a chaotic, deserted place, similar to the concept that humans have about hell; as well as portraying the residents as grotesque creatures. A known (and confirmed) fact about this world is that the dimensional and time axes differ greatly between the Demon World and the Human World. For instance, if Neuro were to return to Hell, and then come back to the Human World, it could be a year, or a thousand years later, or he could even end up at a parallel universe of the world above. From this, as well as some other random facts Neuro has stated (see below), it can be inferred that even though Hell is "below" the human surface, it belongs to a completely different universe. Although not much is known about Hell's ecosystem, creatures, and such, there are many random facts that Neuro has given about the Demon World that give a general idea of what that universe is like.
