After the Burning Legion's Third Invasion of Azeroth, Moira Thaurissan took advantage of the chaos within the Kingdom to launch a coup in order to claim the throne of Ironforge and subvert the other two clans of the Council of Three Hammers. Despite the chaos following the invasion by the Burning Legion, Muradin Bronzebeard succeeded in stopping the attempted takeover leading to Moira's death and the retreat of the Dark Iron dwarves back to Blackrock Mountain.
