Historically, Mahavidi was the personal Padhrasattva of the Dalai Lama. He was considered to be the highest of the Padhra's incarnations. An enormous 30 ton statue made from pure gold depicting Mahavidi was located within the Room of a Hundred and Three Pillars in the Potala of Saikhoi.
