| - When Hagrid presented Buckbeak to the third years in his first Care of Magical Creatures class, Draco Malfoy insulted Buckbeak, who instantly attacked him with his razor-sharp claws. Enraged, Malfoy pretended to be injured for three months. Malfoy's father, Lucius Malfoy, furious about the attack on his son, demanded Buckbeak executed. However, thanks to a Time-Turner of Hermione Granger's, she and Harry Potter rescued Buckbeak from his terrible fate. Later, after Sirius Black said good-bye to Harry, he flew away on Buckbeak. After Sirius was killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, he lived with Hagrid under the name of Witherwings. In the battle of Hogwarts, Hagrid slammed Walden Macnair into a wall as punishment for trying to kill Buckbeak.
- Buckbeak is the STT for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is the Hippogriff that was being killed for attacking Draco Malfoy. It was available from Planet Top Trumps.
- Buckbeak is a stormy grey Hippogriff, with piercing orange eyes. He is first introduced to Harry, who bows to him. After a pause, Buckbeak sinks into an unmistakable bow. Harry is encouraged to approach Buckbeak, and the Hippogriff appears to enjoy Harry patting his beak. Hagrid suggests that Buckbeak might let Harry ride him; after Harry climbs onto his back, Buckbeak flies him once around the paddock before heading back to the ground. Buckbeak is later introduces to Draco Malfoy. Although he initially returns Draco's bow, Buckbeak attacks Draco when he insults him, slashing his talons at his arm. Buckbeak is wrestled back into his collar by Hagrid.
- At the beginning of Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire, Buckbeak is still a fugitive, under order of execution by the Ministry of Magic, having escaped with Sirius Black.
