| - Sue was a teenage Hmong girl who's family immigrated to the united states, and became neighbors with a veteran named Walt Kowalski. One day, Walt helped her get away from a group of delinquents, and in return she invited him to a feast her family was having. Walt was very judgmental towards foreigners because of past experiences, but reluctantly accepted. Thanks to Sue, Walt began to lower his defenses and grew a fondness for the the Hmong-family. However, after Sue's brother Thao was assaulted by a street-gang led by his cousin Fong, Walt confronted the gang and threatened to kill them if they repeated this action. Fong took this as a challenge and with the help of his gang, he violently beat Sue (and presumably raped her) and unloaded a barrage of gunfire towards her family. However, no one in the family wanted to testify, so Fong escaped custody. Walt however managed to get Fong and his cohorts arrested by manipulating them into shooting him with several witnesses present, thus ensuring the safety of Sue and her family. Sue, Thao and their mother attended Walt's funeral and later inherited his Gran Torino and dog Daisy.
