Wolf Albach-Retty was a German actor. He was one of the historical re-enactors who performed as a Jew at the tourist village of Wawolnice in the mid-21st Century. He played Alter Kaczyne, the village melamed. Many of his young students were the children of the re-enactors. One day after work, Albach-Retty told fellow re-enactor Veit Harlan and Kristi Söderbaum that a tourist had exposed her breasts to him, which made teaching very difficult. Like many others in the village, Albach-Retty soon came to identify with his Jewish character.
