Blair Edwards was a Hulstrian politician and leader of the Saints Alliance in the later years of the People's Socialist Republic of Gishoto and in the beginning of the Republic of Gishoto. Edwards played a prominent and controversial role in the political fabric of the nation, especially among republican and leftist circles, at this time and was elected a total of seven times as Head of State. He originaly was allied with Konsort Strauss of the Kaiserliche Hulsterreichische Partei but broke away to form his own coalition, leading to a long KHP-SA rivalry. Edwards at his peak was one of the members of the "Gang of Four", a sub-group of the governing Left-Wing Coalition that had large influence over the policy and operations of the government at that time.

He originaly was allied with Konsort Strauss of the Kaiserliche Hulsterreichische Partei but broke away to form his own coalition, leading to a long KHP-SA rivalry. Edwards at his peak was one of the members of the "Gang of Four", a sub-group of the governing Left-Wing Coalition that had large influence over the policy and operations of the government at that time. Following his departure from politics, the Saints Alliance struggled to find a new, strong leader. The Saints Alliance would remain in Hulstrian politics for some time after his death but did not rise to the level it once had during his reign. When the Refuge Pressure Party collapsed in the early 2370s, combined with the rebirth of the monarchist movement, the Saints Alliance eventually imploded in the same decade after a stunning electoral defeat by the hands of the Imperial Hulstrian Party.
