He turned pro with the Dallas Black Hawks in 1974-75 and then was a fifth defenceman for the NHL Hawks until the middle of the 1979-80 season. The Vancouver Canucks traded Ron Sedlbauer for Logan and Harold Phillipoff. He played 40 games for the Canucks but was not part of the team's plans. He signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers in March, 1981 and with the Toronto Maple Leafs in August, 1981. However, he did not play with either team and his NHL career was over. He retired in 1983. In the NHL Logan played in 218 games with 5 goals, 29 assists, and 470 penalty minutes.
