Walter Gould was a colleague of Jacob Hargreave and Karl Rasch. He joined in Rasch's scientific expedition to the Tunguska crash site in 1919. Gould and the others discovered the existence of the Ceph and their technology. Through unknown circumstances, Gould and his colleagues were the only survivors of the expedition; Rasch and Gould were severely weakened and were carried (at superhuman lengths) to safety by Hargreave before being rescued by members of the British expeditionary force operating from Vladivostok.
