- The Sharks was a major Thrashball team based in Tyrus. Shortly before Emergence Day, Augustus Cole was contacted by his agent to help sign a contract to play for the Sharks. However Cole decided he would not leave his home town and home team, and turned down the contract. Sometime before Emergence Day, the Sharks competed against the Cougars for the Allfathers Trophy; the Sharks lost and the Cougars walked away with the trophy. Damon Baird, a fan of the Sharks, commented on this, claiming that the referee was blind during the match.

- A shark is a type of carnivorous fish native to every great-sea, and ocean of both this and that Earth, and can also be found in many lakes, and seas (both along the coast and far inland) of both worlds. Sharks are made mostly of grey cartilage. They have sharp fins, aerodynamic/scaly skin, hundreds of sharp teeth, red gills, and dark beady eyes. They are aggressive and no smarter than any other type of fish, yet they rule the seas, being hunted only by a few select regional species (such as plate-headed fish, zebra whales, giant krakens, and blackwalruses).
