The Social Worker, played by Mary Mara, appears in The Truth about Lying in Season One of Cherry Hill. We first see her in a flashback of 1991, going over the details of Zach Rosenthal's adoption to Peter and Jennifer Meyer, both of whom were friends of Zach's parents Rebecca and Michael Rosenthal. She explains before handing over the baby, that both Rosenthal's were killed in a traffic accident, however they had already named the child Zach, it was explained they had no family left so that the Meyer's as friends were the only ones they felt comfortable with leaving their child with. The Meyer's seemingly kept this name in their honour.
