Ranches are resource buildings in Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. Ranches, like farms, are used to produce food and exports. Similar to farms, ranches will utilize the land around it to produce resources. Over time, the quality of the pastures will quickly diminish, reducing production. If not enough good pastureland surrounds the ranch production will cease. In Tropico 4, ranches become obsolete in 1968 and are replaced by organic ranches.
