The power of waves can be used to create electricity. This technology has been with us for about thirty years, although many setbacks have meant that wave power is not the power in the electricity world which it should be. Certainly Britain, with many of the best sites for creating wave energy, due to the great coastline, should be one of the forerunners of generating wave energy, although this is not the case. There are many different ways of harnessing the power of the waves, although it is difficult, possibly because of the waves being relatively small in most places.

| - The power of waves can be used to create electricity. The most used one is like a wave machine in reverse. The waves go into an air chamber and force air in and out of a hole at the top of the chamber. In this hole, there is a turbine and generator, with the turbine turned by the air rising and falling being used to drive the generator.
