Seal/Arms & House Colors: The house crest portrays a midnight blue field, with a crescent moon upon the top right corner. Diagonally from the top left to bottom right corner, a fine elven blade is depicted, one side illuminated white by the moon, the other dark. A pair of silver traced oak leaves lay crossed behind the blade. History: A house of Miyeritar founded some centuries before it had reached its height, the early House of Shadowsong was a comparatively small house, noted for its talented spellcasters and scholarly pursuits more than force of arms. This changed upon the escalation of the Crown Wars, when survivors of the house, greatly weakened by the assault of the Arvyaandar military upon Miyeritar, took up arms in insurgency against the occupying force. Eventually, members of the now substantially weakened house were finally driven out of Miyeritar as Aryvaandar asserted their control over the state. Despite this, members of the house had become renowned and feared for their combative abilities as skirmishers and rangers/woodsmen. With the destruction of Miyeritar due to the Dark Disaster, House Shadowsong became effectively homeless, picking up a semi-nomadic existence for a time while continuing their fight against the Vyshaantar. With the end of the Fifth Crown War, the remaining members of the family were divided in opinion. Some wished to stay in elven lands and helped rebuild. These members of the family would eventually settle about in Illefarn and Evermeet. One notable daughter of the family however, Almithara Shadowsong, had become very weary of elven culture in light of the long struggle between kingdoms, and packed up and left with her closest associates. Almithara would eventually be considered the first matriarch of the House Shadowsong who would eventually settle down in the High Forest, living alongside Wild Elves in comparative isolation. Members of House Shadowsong until recently had been primarily isolationists, known around the Silver Marches and High Forest but rather unknown elsewhere. Members of the house have historically been described as somewhat aloof, reflecting their history of isolation. However, younger members of the house, often being far more worldly than their recent ancestors, are often labeled as passionate, independent individuals. Though its members are primarily renowned for being potent woodsmen or swordsmen, the occasional wizard or even archer are not unheard of.
