| - The action of the race came on lap 56 when Boris Said got loose and spun out, hitting Marcos Ambrose who slipped by through contact with Said. Said's #25 No Fear Energy Drink sponsored car wrecked, from a hit with Max Papis and contact from Marcos Ambrose. When an irritated and irate Boris Said climbed out of his racecar, he waited for Ambrose to come back around under caution. When Ambrose was in his sight, Boris Said angrily wagged his finger, and aimed his helmet as if he was going to toss it before he then went to the ambulance. NASCAR declared that Boris just wrecked himself and that Ambrose was just behind Boris at the time of the wreck; no penalties were given to Ambrose or Boris. Boris Said's #25 No Fear Racing chevy was towed off to the No Fear Racing team's hauler and was scrapped by the team. When Boris Said was caught up in a hospital, Said retorted "Either Marcos Ambrose made a mistake or he is incredibly stupid. I would never expect such a thing from him...I am disappointed. It will cost him a car someday." Said then went up to Ambrose' pit crew where he verbally abused Ambrose' crew chief Gary Cogswell before walking off in a huff. The leader of the race at the time was Ruben Pardo who was trying to make a NASCAR career; Scott Pruett who led parts of the race; passed him with about 18 laps left. With 8 laps left in the race, just like in 2007's race Scott Pruett was about to win his first Busch series win. As the race reached 7 laps left, Kyle Busch who was the class of the field, zoomed right by Pruett and not long later, Marcos Ambrose zipped by Pruett also for second place. Kyle Busch won the final race in Mexico City holding off a challenging Marcos Ambrose. Busch's win was his third straight NNS victory and the next morning after the race, NASCAR declared that 2008's event would be the last race in Mexico. When Ambrose was interviewed by reporters he said "No doubt that if I had 2 more laps I would have gotten Kyle. But congrats to him and I am happy for my guys to finish second. I just really need to get up one spot more and I feel like I have enough talents and support to win. But I do want to say sorry to Boris I did not mean to get into him. I hope he realizes that." When Scott Pruett was asked how he felt about battling Kyle Busch, he replied "Kyle is one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR. When he gave slight contact with me with 8 laps left, one thing I knew was to let him go by so I am not wrecked like last year. Feel disappointed for my guys and especially seeing him bump me to get by; but congrats to Kyle and the 20 team. At least this finish is not as heartbreaking as last year when we had the greatest car. Today if we did not run out of tire then we win. That's it." Busch said to reporters "Getting by Scott Pruett was real tough. I understand what may have caused him to lose last year's Mexico race but if he blocked it would be a carbon repeat. Pruett is one of the greatest road racers you'll ever find for a long time and it feels good for my guys and I to get by him for that trophy. Only one guy gets to keep that trophy and I am glad it's me and my Joe Gibbs guys." In a post-race interview, Boris Said, Said's crew chief and boss Frank Stoddard, were told by NASCAR that Ambrose apologized for the wreck. Said replied "The only way he could make me feel any better is if he comes here and I beat his (expletive)." Marcos showed up in the meeting wearing a brown curly hair wig (A "Said head") but Boris still didn't feel any better and vowed to get even; Ambrose said "Sorry but you're not going to ruin my day. I wouldn't mess with me if i was you" and walked out of the meeting.
