Kimberly Hart was initially selected by the PGSO to be one of the female competitors in the gymnastics event, but she declined after Gunthar Schmidt's arrest, saying that she had bigger responsibilities. Katherine Hillard was selected to train in her place. She later returns to Angel Grove when the gymnastics competition at the event is concluded. Kimberly later passes her powers to Cassie Chan and leaves to train for the 1997 Pan Globals.
