A Coruña, or Corunna to the British, is a seaport city on the northwest coast of Spain. It is separated from Ferrol by the Bays of Betanzos and Coruña. After Hornblower and his Spanish crew were captured after by HMS Syrtis, Captain George Crome commanding, after rescuing crew members of a Spanish privateer which crashed onto the Dientes del Diablo, or Devil's Teeth reef, they were delivered to A Coruña under flag of truce subsequent to Hornblower explaining to Crome that he had given his parole and that the Spaniards were not liable to capture in accordance with the admiralty rules.
