The second volume of Girl Genius recounts the first half of Agatha's adventures aboard the Castle Wulfenbach. Beginning with Agatha waking up in the student dorms and ending with her first hearing Krosp speak, Agatha Heterodyne and The Airship City introduces the Wulfenbach students, the construct nanny Von Pinn, Gil's manservant Ardsley Wooster, the pitiful Dr. Dim, the ominous Mr. Rovainen, and the amusing (and annoying) Othar Tryggvassen, Gentleman Adventurer, among others. While the main plot of Airship City concerns Agatha's unwilling involvement in Moloch von Zinzer's deception, there are also many further hints of her still re-emerging sparkiness and her still hidden identity as the Heterodyne Heir. It is in Airship City that Agatha first begins to interact with Gil. They don't get along particularly well at this point, but give it some time.... We also get to see much more of the Jägermonsters in this volume, which is definitely a good thing. The story in this volume is covered in the novel Agatha H. and the Airship City. Volume II was the first volume of Girl Genius to be published in color. The colors were done by Mark McNabb. The comics in this volume were first published in issues 4, 5, and 6 of the Girl Genius Comic Book. The first page of Volume II begins here: [ May 12 2003] [[Chronology - Volume #|✣ ]]. This volume can be purchased on TopatoCo or through local comic book shops.
