Private Janzen is a young UN soldier who was captured by ZP personnel. Gabe Logan finds Janzen in a state of shell shock and he cannot assist in fighting. He follows Gabe through the levels, ocassionally setting up radios and crossing sludge pits, but is too traumatised to fight. Later on recovers and Gabe tosses him an Uzi. Once Gabe has reached the decontamination tent, Janzen runs towards him and gets pursued by Serbian troops as Gabe covers him. When the UN medic Kress comes, Janzen waits with him, unbeknownst to the fact that Kress is a Red Section spy, while Logan is sent on an errand to acquire medical equipment by Kress, who has a wounded soldier with him.
