Following the Dissolution of the Ross Dependency, four areas of Transantarctica remain under New Zealand's administration; though they are under Bellinsgauzenian sovereignty and jurisdiction. These areas, known as Co-Administrative Areas (CAAs), have a much higher proportion of ethnic New Zealanders than the rest of Transantarctica (where Russians are the ethnic majority), and voted against the Dissolution more strongly than other areas.
