Jack Frehorn is the author of the Books of Chzo and founder of the Order of Blessed Agonies. He first appears in a flashback scene of Trilby's Notes and is the protagonist of Countdown 1 - the Body. As a young lad he had an interest in the occult, much to the regret of his homosexual partner Wilbur, and eventually purchased a harpsichord made out of the wood with Cabadath's soul in it. During the night that he purchased it he was awoken to the Tall Man playing his new instrument and had presumed to shoot the Tall Man but in the process shot Wilbur who was possessed by the Tall Man. After shooting his lover he bowed down to the Tall Man and begged his forgiveness. From then on there he formed the Order of Blessed Agonies.
