Malcolm Taylor (8th November 1937 - 6th February 2012) worked as a director on Coronation Street from July 1979 to July 1987 with 43 episodes to his credit. Earlier in his career he was an actor, appearing in The Plane Makers, The Avengers, Z Cars, The Wednesday Play, Doctor Who and Public Eye. His other directorial credits include Crossroads, EastEnders, Foxy Lady, The Glamour Girls and Irish soaps Fair City and Ros na Run. His daughter is the Coronation Street scriptwriter Ellen Taylor who has worked on the programme since December 2010.
