The Toad-class Starfighters currently in service with the Genoshan Confederacy are the hold-overs of peacekeeping units that were produced to police themselves in the long absence of knowledge of outside cultures. When the Trade Princes arrived, the Toad-class Starfighters were immediately pulled from service and given a major retrofit. Most of the Toads had been aging and weren't in the best shape, so out of the three squadrons that had been fielded before the Trade Princes' arrival, only four Toads remain in active service. while more are planned, the Toad Mark II's will be significantly more expensive than their older counterparts, who were mainly for show, and didn't have much bite before their retrofit. A Total of 16 Toad Mark II's are planned at this moment over the next several year

A Total of 16 Toad Mark II's are planned at this moment over the next several years, at which time the Toad Mark I's will be placed in mothballs The Toads are a long-range fighter, and the Genoshans preferred speed over banks of railguns. As a result, the Toad only has a light machine gun, used for strafing against ground targets; a single Gauss cannon, its primary armament; and four Stryker Light Missiles, mounted on pylons. Alternatively, the Stryker missiles can be switched out and replaced with fuel pods, booster pods, or flechette launchers for ground attack.
