abstract	Miami Vice: The Complete Collection is a soundtrack album consisting entirely of instrumental pieces composed for Miami Vice by Jan Hammer. After extensive pressure from fans of the series, Jan Hammer finally released this more comprehensive 2-CD collection of his score music in 2002. While the first disc largely contains music that had already been released on previous soundtracks (namely the three Miami Vice albums and Hammer's own album Escape From Television), the second CD features cues that had never previously been released in any format. Many of these tracks represent the first time several fan favourites were released, most notably "The Talk" (from the celebrated gas station scene in the first season's "Evan"), which was used to underscore several key moments later in the show, often dealing with the death of a major character.
