| - Encumbered is a condition in Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4. The player character gets this condition when the weight of items in the inventory exceeds the maximum Carry Weight.
- The Encumbered was a term used by the Sith Lord Daiman to refer to his subjects in the Daimanate. The narcissistic Sith Lord believed that he was the creator of the universe and that all other sentient beings and creatures were soulless automatons created by his will. The Encumbered were burdened with the functions and orders that he had assigned them with. He also regarded all his subjects as mere extensions of his will.
- This form of movement speed decrease is not to be confused with a decrease in movement speed caused by spells, which can be negated by freedom. Drinking potions of bull's strength, casting the spell bull's strength, using the blackguard feat bull's strength and/or wearing items which grant bonuses to strength can keep a character at regular running speed before returning to sell surplus items. Storing heavy items in containers with weight-reducing properties (such as bags of holding and other magic bags) may also prevent encumbrance.
- The term encumbered refers to spectrum that is burdened with occupancy, usage or congestion limitations or licenses that are subject to obligations or restrictions.
