The Anti-Eviction Act is the popular name of L. 1974, c. 49, as amended, codified at N.J.S. 2A:18-61.1 et seq. The statute protects most residential tenants from eviction for other than one of the enumerated grounds constituting "good cause" and by requiring specific pre-action notices in many cases.
