Robert Julien Mongrain (born August 31, 1959 in La Sarre, Quebec) is a former professional ice hockey centre. He played in the National Hockey League with the Buffalo Sabres and Los Angeles Kings. He played Junior "A" hockey for the Cap de la Madeleine Barons and major junior for the Trois-Rivières Draveurs. Undrafted by an NHL team, Mongrain was signed as a free agent by the Buffalo Sabres in 1979. Over the next five seasons he split his career between the Sabres and the Rochester Americans, winning the Calder Cup in 1983 with the Americans.

He played in the National Hockey League with the Buffalo Sabres and Los Angeles Kings. He played Junior "A" hockey for the Cap de la Madeleine Barons and major junior for the Trois-Rivières Draveurs. Undrafted by an NHL team, Mongrain was signed as a free agent by the Buffalo Sabres in 1979. Over the next five seasons he split his career between the Sabres and the Rochester Americans, winning the Calder Cup in 1983 with the Americans. In 1984, Mongrain went to Switzerland to play for EHC Kloten. He made one more try at the NHL in 1985-86 with the Los Angeles Kings but after 11 games returned to Switzerland where he played until his retirement in 1991. He was a head coach in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 1994-95 and 1995-96 with the Hull Olympiques and 2001–02 and 2002-03 with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In his NHL career, Mongrain appeared in 81 games. He scored thirteen goals and added fourteen assists.
