Established in 1961 as the Nolanville Volunteer Fire Department, the department merged with the Sparta Valley Volunteer Fire Department in 2010 and was re-named Central Bell County Fire Rescue. The department is staffed with a complement of 40 firefighters and has a response area of 20+ miles that includes US HWY 190 and a variety of urban, rural, and agricultural areas. The department averages over 1,000 responses per year.
