Two of the 12 storey tower blocks were constructed either side of the old Great Lister Street, which were Sycamore House & Chestnut House. The Rupert Street Estate was one of four estates in Nechells Green. The other three were the Kellett Road Estate, Duddeston Manor Estate and Cromwell Street Estate. Across all four estates there were 27 tower blocks making up the 67 tower blocks of Aston.
