In 1991-92 Giles played for the Canadian Olympic Team that won a silver medal at the 1992 Olympics. He then signed with the St. Louis Blues for one and a half seasons before retiring in 1993. In all he played 895 NHL games, scoring 43 goals and 199 assists. In the playoffs, he played 103 games and scored 6 goals and 16 assists.
