Mutilation Guard is a Legendary Gem in Diablo III, added in Patch 2.2.0. It can only be socketed into Amulets and Rings, and drops from Greater Rift Guardians. This gem was originally Season Three-exclusive, but since this season ended, it drops for normal characters as well. At rank 25, it also allows the character move freely through enemies and Waller-affix barriers while at 50% Life or lower. The effect is identical to that of Illusory Boots and Bottomless Potion of Kulle-Aid.

abstract	Mutilation Guard is a Legendary Gem in Diablo III, added in Patch 2.2.0. It can only be socketed into Amulets and Rings, and drops from Greater Rift Guardians. This gem was originally Season Three-exclusive, but since this season ended, it drops for normal characters as well. This gem reduces all unsaved damage taken in melee. This works regardless of Elemental Damage type, and melee damage does include the ground-based attacks such as most monster affixes. Upgrading increases the damage reduction, up to 85%. It stacks with the respective stat of the character, but is subject to diminishing returns. At rank 25, it also allows the character move freely through enemies and Waller-affix barriers while at 50% Life or lower. The effect is identical to that of Illusory Boots and Bottomless Potion of Kulle-Aid. As damage reduction has a cap (and in addition stacks with the respective stat), this is one of the few gems that actually has a ranking limit, effectively becoming fully upgraded after reaching rank 150. It is also one of the five gems (the others being Invigorating Gemstone, Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard, Moratorium and Esoteric Alteration) that offer defensive, rather than offensive, bonuses.
