They can't get your gold back generally, and they might not even do anything to the other player, but it's the most you can do. And yes, never take a run from anyone who asks for the gold up-front. It's not uncommon to see "pay half at the halfway point" for runs with halfway points, such as the Droks run. But anyone who wants the gold before he even starts is not only in prime position to just leave you hangin
