Hekíána was the daughter of Kysa's aunt, Zekka Zerego, who was the sister of Zaya Zerego, Kysa's mother. Hekíána had an extremely close bond with her cousin, Kysa, and they commonly did things together, Kysa and Hekíána were more like sisters than cousins. They had known each other since Hekíána's birth when the seven year old Kysa met her new cousin. As Hekíána grew up they became close friends. Hekíána and Kysa went to the same school, worked in the same classroom and lived next door to each other. People commonly mistook them for sisters. This close friendship continued until Kysa was chosen to be the new V'ei'ka at the age of 21, when Hekíána was fourteen in 32,871 BBY. When Kysa was chosen to be the next V'ei'ka she moved to the Palace of V'ei'ka. Whilst Kysa and Hekíána saw each other a lot, they did not see each other every day. Hekíána got married and had children, five years later in 32,866 BBY she watched with the rest of her family as her cousin was blinded with the Mask of V'ei'ka. Hekiána's children deeply loved their first cousin once removed, Kysa. So, dearest cousin, you're the new V'ei'ka! You bring pride to our family! All Zeregans past, present and future will look on you with huge pride!—Hekíána to her newly-blinded cousin During her life Hekíána commonly visited Kysa to see how she was doing, and when the N'Akkiarlians invaded in 32,854 BBY, she left to a Zerego family manor house in the countryside, away from Ingza City, under the request of her cousin, who possibly foresaw the N'Akkiarlians bombing it to rubble, which happened in 32,850 BBY. Kysa's son, Kizo, was out for a walk around the city when the bombing began and was killed and Kysa and her husband chose to stay in the city and try to boost morale of her people. After the war Hekíána returned from the countryside manor to visit Kysa and her husband at the Palace of V'ei'ka, which had been spared (along with the Ingzan sovereign's palace) under strict orders of the N'Akkiarlian king. She learnt that her cousin had nearly been killed by an over-eager N'Akkiarlian rookie soldiers who ignored the strictest orders of the N'Akkiarlian king and tried to shoot Kysa so he could brag about it, but one of Kysa's servants had taken the bullet for her. Kysa comforted her servant as he died. Because Hekíána's home had been reduced to rubble, Kysa gave her the mountain top mansion holiday retreat in the Vénkáíláz Mountains to live in. Where she lived until she died in 32,771 at the age of one hundred and fourteen. A 121-year old Kysa attended the funeral of her dear cousin.
