The Treaty of Munich was a treaty signed in November 1804 in Munich. The result of the treaty was almost complete French dominance of the Rhine region, with all of the western German states (with the exceptions of Bavaria and Wurttemberg) being formed into the vast Rhine Confederation, with Emperor NApoleon as its protector. Both Bavaria and Wurttemberg were elevated to monarchies and given relative independence. However they were both forced into a military alliance with France.
