Rain fell in blinding sheets, the wind driving it in such a direction that it blew directly into the eyes of the passersby below; trying with futility to shield themselves from the downpour. The streets of Akabira City were still quite crowded, despite the late hour, with adults either going or coming home from their work. Tonight, few of the youths who frequented the streets even in darkness were secluded away within their homes, scared encase they caught a cold.

  • Rain fell in blinding sheets, the wind driving it in such a direction that it blew directly into the eyes of the passersby below; trying with futility to shield themselves from the downpour. The streets of Akabira City were still quite crowded, despite the late hour, with adults either going or coming home from their work. Tonight, few of the youths who frequented the streets even in darkness were secluded away within their homes, scared encase they caught a cold. The man overlooking the scene was perched atop a three story office building, a large billboard advertising a new model of car; the bright colors used a contrast to the dull and depressing shade of the current night. His name was Tyrell Nishiki, lieutenant of the 5th Division within the Ryū Order, and tonight he was simply enjoying a breather. Only home from a two-week hollow hunting expedition within Hueco Mundo, Tyrell and his squad were winding down before they made the eventual jump home to Horiwari. "Tyrell, they're moving again." Juunan Shihōin, former member of the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13 said from Tyrell's left. Motioning him to give chase, the young Shihōin clansmen disappeared in a flash of blue as he shunpo'd across the rooftops towards the origin of the creatures filling his senses. Tyrell simply looked on, not really sure what it was he sensed himself... A tall man was lying on the grass, thinking of his brother. He sighed. I should never have came out. It's boring out here. I should probably get back soon, he thought. Sensing a strong presence, he used Ketsueki Butoukai and found some hollows. He sliced some of them into half using his sword and used hand-to-hand combat to kill others. "Off you go, you evil spirits." he muttered softly. Sensing the Hollows fall before Juunan even arrived on scene, Tyrell shared a look with his Quincy companion, a purple-haired man by the name of Fujimaru Namikaze who just happened to have Shinigami powers also. At his brisk nod, he and Tyrell, accompanied by the returning figure of Kensai Kuchiki - who had been off dealing with other problems to the north - fell in beside them. "Looks like we've got something new, boys." Tyrell said, accompanied by one of his classic grins. "Keep it simple, okay? We'll only engage if Juunan's in danger. If not, we'll go our seperate ways and return home after. Agreed?" When two heads nodded, Fujimaru's accompanied with a quick, cutting retort about leadership, did Tyrell continue moving. Meanwhile, Juunan arrived on scene, touching down to regard a well-dressed, long green-haired individual; standing amidst the slowly dissolving bodies of the Hollow the young Shihōin had intended to deal with himself. "Nice!" He said politely, but keeping a safe distance. "Name's Juunan and they're-" He flicked his head at the three other men slowly making their way towards them- "are Tyrell, Kensai and Fujimaru." "Thank you." Seishi mumbled. "Unless there's anything else, I'd be taking my leave." Seishi prepared to leave until he felt a strong reiatsu emitting from the brown-haired individual. This might get interesting, he thought. "On second thought, can one of you train me in hand-to-hand combat? I'm lacking in that area and my brother expects me to perfect it by the time I get home." Seishi lied. He then sheathed his sword. Tyrell shared a look with the others, eventually cracking his knuckles as he stepped forward. "I could give you a few pointers," He said in response, before turning to regard the other members of his team. "Kensai, Fujimaru. Head back to Horiwari and give Yoshiro the report. Juunan and I will follow you back soon." Turning his attention back towards the green-haired youth, Tyrell nodded. "Tyrell Nishiki. You are?" "Seishi." he said coldly. "Thank you very much for agreeing to training me. God knows what he'll do if I don't perfect it by today." he bowed. "Your reiatsu. It's pretty interesting. You are a shinigami right? You have strong reiatsu, yet not fully shinigami." "I'm a human-Shinigami hybrid." Tyrell explained, taking a look around at the scenery. The alleyway was wide and spacious, though training could very well damage it beyond repair; not to mention causing all kinds of stories in the local press. "Juunan, you mind?" The young Shihōin nodded his head, feigning exasperation. After a playful tap on the back of the head, a powerful Kidō barrier sprang up around the three spiritual entities. "That'll be... three drinks when we get home? I did save your ass back in Hueco Mundo." Juunan said nonchalantly. "Yeah, yeah, you moocher. Who was it who still sleeps in my living rooms couch? Hmmm? You're as bad as the bloody Quincy!" Tyrell shouted, finally turning back towards Seishi. "Sorry, my team-mates are idiots. Anyways," he went on, somewhat joyful, "what you wanna take away from this training exercise, then? Tips? Technique?" Dropping into a ready stance, Tyrell motioned for his foe to attack him with Hakuda; while Juunan backed up to observe. "Anything, really. Anything to make my brother not scold me. In my clan, we must master at least two basic shinigami techniques. I'm fine with my sword. But my hakuda," Seishi sighed. "You live with a Quincy? That's really interesting. I thought shinigami and Quincy don't get along well? I'm sorry if I'm bombarding you with questions. I haven't been keeping up with the shinigami stuff. Cooped up at home and training for so long." "Oh yeah, Fujimaru." Tyrell replied with a fool grin. "We've been through a lot and I don't really care what race people are from - Shinigami, Quincy, Vizard. It doesn't matter. At the end of the day we're all our own person with a right to life." Watching his sparring partners stance, Tyrell waved his fingers in the usual manner for someone to start. "Lets see what you've got, eh? Attack me." "Yeah. Sadly I've never met any Quincy. After our training session, how about we meet your friend?" Seishi smiled. "Kumo o Setsudan!" Seishi charged at Tyrell, aiming for his head. "The Wan'nesu...? Now, just where did you learn that?" One good thing about being an Instructor at the Yuengiri Academy was the exposure you got from the styles being taught. As such, Tyrell knew just how to counter the styles being used. Kumo o Setsudan was a high-speed movement slash aimed for the head, though its speed was its only real up-side. And the fact Seishi's sealed zanpakutō was a spear, all Tyrell needed to do to avoid the strike was step to the left quickly. He appeared almost as if he shimmered momentarily before appearing bodily behind Seishi. "Aren't you just full of surprises?" He said in a friendly tone. "Where did you learn the Wan'nesu at?" "Kenji Hiroshi. Ever heard of him? Pretty good if you ask me. Barely survived. Thankfully we became friends. You must know Wan'nesu pretty well yourself if you managed to dodge that. I only learnt one technique though. Care to teach me more?" Seishi asked with a smirk before using Ketsueki Butoukai to move behind Tyrell. He then tried to bite Tyrell. "Yeah, I know Kenji fairly well, though I don't use the Wan'nesu styles myself-" Any further explanation was finished when Seishi sank his teeth into Tyrell's raised left arm, enough to draw blood! Tyrell blasted his spiritual energy and swung the arm, breaking the contact where he proceeded to blow comically on his forearm. "Ouch ouch ouch! Last person who bit me was better looking and a girl for by." Hefting his zanpakutō, Tyrell leapt into the air with every intention of roughing his foe up with the downward strike he attempted! "Last person?" Seishi grinned, before using Ketsueki Butoukai again. "Interesting. A female Reikon Kyuuban bit you? Does that mean you know our techniques? That's such a sad story. Well, it's over, isn't it?" his grin turned into a wicked smile. "Do you know what happens when I bite you?" Seishi laughed, "Kiba Hyoukyo. I command you to stop, Tyrell Nishiki." Tyrell came to a stand-still, with Juunan expressing his surprise at this development from the sidelines with an upraised eyebrow. Tyrell struggled in mid-air, unmoving and rather confused about it. "Oh, she wasn't one of you. She was... something special." Tyrell's face showed a degree of happiness as he remembered his last meeting with Tsume and the events that followed it. "So your one of the Reikon Kyuuban, eh?" He said finally, after shaking his head and the memories of Tsume with it. "Haven't saw one of your kind since I battered Gengetsu around. But I know that technique of yours focuses on saliva, right?" He had a plan, but why play his hand yet? "Better to see where this goes from here," He thought, maintaining his calm even in this situation. "Saliva? Indeed. Gengetsu? Never heard of him. Maybe we should start hanging out." Seishi chuckled before disappearing into "thin air". "Tyrell Nishiki. He knows a lot about the Reikon Kyuuban. Time to analyze his abilities," Seishi thought. He appeared behind Tyrell, preparing to strike him down. Tyrell knew enough to know that the saliva controlled the targets body, making resistance close to impossible. It controlled the body not the spirit or mind, which was why he could still talk and think as he would normally. Going with his senses for once, Tyrell exerted his spiritual energy. A torrent of flames escaped him! Those flames sought Seishi like a magnet attracts metal. In the same instance, a large degree of his spiritual energy coated his limbs; safeguarding him from harm. Seishi's blade met his mark but drew only a slight amount of blood from Tyrell's shoulder, where the flames Tyrell loosed began to close in, threatening to crush him! "Uh oh." Seishi panicked for a while before calming himself down. "It's okay, Seishi. You'll find a way to escape eventually," he thought. "Dōbutsu Henkan!" he transformed into a bat and tried to run away. He, however, was still blocked by the fire which started to crush him. Thankfully, he sustained lesser damage compared to if he was in human form. After getting directly hit, Seishi returned to human form unwillingly and lay on the floor as if he was lifeless. He tried to stand, but to no avail. Tyrell remained in his aerial position, watching as Seishi struggled to get back to his feet. The flames roaring around him receded to a dull light before vanishing completely, along with the energy that had protected him from the young mans strike. "Nice evasion," Tyrell said truthfully. "If you had caught me with that combination before I joined the Ryū Order, you would've beaten me." Time in the Orders ranks had hardened well beyond the simple Shinigami substitute he had begun as. "Heal the innocent, destroy the guilty, Kenkouseiten." Seishi released while looking up at the sky. Aiming his canon at himself, he sent a blast of yellow out of the canon. As multiple arrows began shooting into his body, he eventually gained back the ability to stand up. "As you can see, I'm really a weakling. And I really need help. This is seriously all I can do." Seishi then did a 90 degree bow. "Please take me as your student." Seishi thought, "What am I even doing? Since when was I like that?" Tyrell arched an eyebrow at the young mans words. "Weakling? All you can do? I don't think so." Tyrell looked at the zanpakutō still held tightly in his hands in a striking position, as though in thought. "A zanpakutō is only one part of your strength, Seishi. You've got your Reikon Kyuuban heritage to take into account as well. Join those two and use them together to their fullest extent and you'll be a force to be reckoned with. You don't need training. Only a push in the right direction, which I can do. Reduce 'em to Ash, Nantekotta!" Tyrell's zanpakutō was replaced by two spear-like weapons with three sharpened points apiece that bore some resemblance to a trident. Flames came alive upon his skin, noticeably stronger than those exerted previously. "Come at me with everything you've got, Seishi!" Seishi charged a Kyūketsuki Ga Satsuei in one left hand and fired Konran Kanon at Tyrell, in which the two offensive attacks combined into a single one, heading towards Tyrell rapidly. "Tyrell Nishiki. He's a really interesting guy. Living with a Quincy? I'm going to try finding more about his background," Seishi thought. "Heruburēzu," Two waves of flame shot out from the tips of Tyrell's Shikai state, impacting Seishi's joint attack! The two forces canceled one another out, with the resulting shockwave forcing Tyrell back where he impacted the edge of the Kidō barrier Juunan had erected when their battle began. "Heh, not bad at all, Seishi." But he was still bound by Seishi's blood control, making high-speed movement all but useless. Instead Tyrell focused the Heruburēzu around his body, using it as a defense against attack and as an offense should the situation arise. Due to already being already tired by his previous attack, Seishi could only use techniques which use little reiatsu. He stood there and thought, "The only thing I can do now is Kidō. He has a barrier but I could try," Seishi thought once again. He grinned, before chanting, "The earth rejects you as your sins are conveyed through it's witness. Let the earth's wrath smother your existence as flames of purgatory rise to annihilate you," then continuing, "Hibashira!" Seishi smiled, "This is idiotic of me. Fighting fire with fire." Still bound as he was, Tyrell's only had a few real options at his disposal that would allow him to fight effectively. Most of his offense and defense focused on keeping his opponent off balance at close range, while relying on his Heruburēzu to protect him when at range. He also couldn't use the Sairento Kōtei, bound as he was. Deciding to take the attack as his foe prepared the incantation, Tyrell focused his spiritual energy, while at the same time conjuring his Shikai's flame. "Rengoku," Tyrell uttered. Spherical purgatorial fire began to rise around Seishi's position, threatening to engulf, entrap and ultimately destroy all caught within. But the act cost Tyrell his shielding and the blast of Kidō fire hit Tyrell head-on!
