Matthew B. Ridgway (1895 - 1993) was an American general who served during World War II. He was born on March 3, 1895 in Fort Monroe, Virginia and died July 26, 1993. Ridgway is most remembered for his service leading American forces in Korea following World War II, but is also notable for taking command of the 82nd Airborne Division.
