Zilla is very different from Godzilla, being fast, mindless, and weak as opposed to strong, intelligent, and relatively lumbering. As all other monsters (the Baby Zillas) in the 1998 Godzilla were allies of his, he was thus the film's main antagonist. In GMK, he is referenced as a believed Godzilla attack on New York. In "Godzilla Final Wars" he fights the real Godzilla and loses, leading to his brutal death.
