  • Treants are powerful, ancient trees and more primitive forms of the wise Ancients that served under Cenarius in ages past. They are closely affiliated with druids, and are often seen accompanying powerful druids and keepers of the grove. Many treants were driven mad during the Third War. The destruction of the forests, as well as demonic corruption, has driven them to lash out at anyone that approaches. Treants resemble large moving trees with faces.

  • The very heart of a mature forest, only a trained eye can discern a treant amidst the trees it protects. Incredibly long lived, they view the seasons as days, and rarely stir. It takes a man seeped in the lore of the forests and in tune with the deepest magics of the planet to awaken a treant, although they have been known on occasion to arise out of ancient forests when it is breached by invaders. Inevitably the outcome is heavy casualties to even well trained units, and the forest returns to sleep quickly. Usually the only evidence of the foiled attack is the mutilated corpses of the invaders, quickly absorbed into the ecosystem of the forest.

These usually have no visually consistent traits between appearances, other than sharing the traits as their variant, albeit with greater stats.

  • The most basic monster among the Plant-type ones, this creature is like pretty much all of the enemies you should have encountered to this point: relatively weak, and it shouldn't pose any problems to a well-prepared party. It's noteworthy because of being the first normal monster capable of using Stored Attacks, although the one it uses is merely an skill called Beatdown, which reduces the speed at which the Reyvateil can Purge. Other quality that makes it special is the fact that it's a pretty rare encounter, so make sure to try finding it if you want to complete your Bestiary.
• Treant's attacks are 2 swipes, and an apple throw if the player is too far away. His only special attack is immobilizing players with vines, which is very easy to avoid if the player jumps. Note that he creates a JUMP Warning. This means that he will use an attack that causes an effect on grounded players. In Treant's case, he will immobilize characters in vines. Keep this in mind, as many monsters use "JUMP" attacks. The vines do mild damage to the player, and leave them vulnerable to a follow-up attack. Also, as the name implies, Jump!
