First published 2004, the 6th official book in the series. It was rumoured to be the last due to writer Sue Townsend's deteriorating eyesite, however other rumours are suggesting that a new book will be released in 2009 entitled Adrian Mole: The Prostrate Years. The name comes from the fact that at the time that the book is set in, the Iraq war controversy was unfolding, this is heavily referenced within the book itself. The story ends with Adrian living in a converted pigsty with his new wife and child.
