Declan panics about Katie as he watches the medical team treat her. He is concerned further when the doctor explains that Katie has got some sort of infection and needs a scan. Soon afterwards, it emerges that Katie has an abscess on her ovary and she needs surgery today. Later, Declan struggles to take everything in when the doctor tells him that Katie is out of theatre, but there have been complications and her chances of having children are small.
