  • The bunyip is a lake monster about the size of a small bull. It is covered in either grey fur or feathers. It has hooves, a wide, flat tail, and a wide mouth filled with large sharp teeth including two long fangs similar to a walrus. It has a horse-like mane down the middle of its neck, a head like an emu, and large flippers. Should any humans stray near the edge of their home, the bunyip will enslave and eventually eat them. Although possible to escape, any who do will still die shortly.

Any visitors who bring weapons are immediately ripped to shreds because Bunyips have really sharp teeth and a deep hatred for weapons."
  • The Bunyip has lived since ancient times, but like most of Downunda's inhabitants fell prey to the machinations of Crocbot.Trapped in stagnant water caused by a giant dam, Bunyip became aggressive towards other creatures, and even attacked and captured the Downunda Freedom Fighters. After talking the situation out with them, however, Bunyip became peaceable, and after the dam was destroyed left the Downunda Freedom Fighters on friendly terms. Unfortunately, the Bunyip was later captured by the Downunda Dark Egg Legion for some sinister purpose. (StH: #103, #104, #105, SU: #37)

  • A Bunyip is a demon native to Australia, residing primarily in lakes, swamps and rivers of the Outback. Bunyips only kill humans if their source of food is disturbed, drowning them in revenge. They are classified as a neutral creature.
  • The Bunyip is an enemy found on Djose Highroad in Final Fantasy X. When fighting against a Bunyip or any enemy with a hard shell early in the game, it is best to bring in Auron or Kimahri because they have the Piercing ability on their weapon.
  • The Bunyip, though often mistakenly referred to as Fera, were one of the original tribes of Garou. Their human kinfolk were the aboriginal tribes of Australia, and their animal kin the marsupial thylacines.
  • The Bunyip tribe inhabited Australia, and bred with the creatures known as Tasmanian wolves. According to legend, the Bunyip were able to call the very servants of Dreamtime, the aborigines' name for the overlap of the real and spirit world in Australia. However, the Bunyip were completely wiped out by agents of the Wyrm during the colonization/conquest of the continent, much to the guilt of the other Garou who unwittingly assisted the colonization.

  • The word "bunyip" is translated as "evil spirit" by most Aboriginal Australians today. Other sources simply say that bunyip is most accurately translated as "devil".
  • Players killing Waterfiends used to find this scroll useful as they drop Raw Lobsters, Swordfish, and Sharks occasionally, but they are now dropped as noted items instead and cannot be used by Bunyip. Someone killing either Aquanites, Dagannoths, or Mogres can find a Bunyip very useful as well, because they mainly drop raw fish. Note that using the scroll does NOT count as eating. A fast clicker can use Swallow Whole on a fish without skipping an attack in combat. This also means that Adrenaline is not lost when "eating" a raw fish.

In one of the many trials that inspired the TV series Law and Order, Sam Waterston (a.k.a. Abraham Lincoln a.k.a.
