Annath is a small mining town in eastern Sendaria, located at the bottom of a gorge near the border with Algaria. Isolated from the rest of the world, it was once very poor, despite having generous quarries of granite and slate, due to the quarrymen taking bad deals from a trader. This changed after the arrival of Darral, one of the heirs of the Rivan Line, who, having previously worked as a stonecutter, had a far better idea of what granite and slate were actually worth. He and his family lived out their lives there, along with their guardian Polgara, until 5354, when Geran V and his wife Ildera were killed by Chamdar, forcing Polgara to take their newborn son Garion somewhere else -- to Faldor's Farm.
