Buonapart Ignace Gallia, known commonly as Dr. Kananga, is the main antagonist of 1954 Ian Fleming novel and 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die. Dr. Kananga is the dictator of San Monique and thus has certain diplomatic immunities in the United States, easily allowing him to smuggle drugs into the country under the alias Mr. Big, a gang leader from Harlem. He was portrayed by Yaphet Kotto.

Sex and the City: The Movie finally reveals his full name to be John James Preston. He is the primary on-and-off love interest of the series' protagonist, Carrie Bradshaw, who usually simply refers to him as "Big".
  • Mr. Big made an appearance in episode 2929 of Sesame Street. His size contradicts his name in that he's actually a very small man. He is named so because he deals in big things (plus he enters with loud, giant-like footsteps). He first appears to Telly Monster, who found his huge watch for him. Then he takes himself to Hooper's Store and infests it with his items to the chagrin of Gina and Mr. Handford. They include a gigantic coffee cup, an immense pencil, a stupendous fork, and a gargantuan telephone.
  • The band was formed in 1988 by David Lee Roth's former bass player Billy Sheehan. The other members were lead vocalist Eric Martin, who had previously recorded as a solo artist, guitarist Paul Gilbert, formerly of Racer X, and drummer Pat Torpey. The band released their self-titled debut album in June of 1989. The album peeked at #45 on the Billboard 200 album chart. In 1990, they opened for the Canadian rock band Rush on the tour to promote their album "Presto".
