Yanick Dupré (November 20, 1972 - August 16, 1997) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played for five seasons in the Philadelphia Flyers organization. He died at the age of only 24 after a 16-month battle with leukemia. He died at the age of only 24 after a 16-month battle with leukemia. The Yanick Dupre Memorial was named after him to honor his memory and is given to the Flyer who best illustrates character, dignity, and respect for the sport both on and off the ice. He played junior in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens, the Drummondville Voltigeurs, and the Verdun Collège Français. The Philadelphia Flyers chose him 50th overall in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Dupre turned pro in 1991-92 with one game for the Flyers. The next season (his first full year as a pro) Dupre played for the Hershey Bears. He finally got back to the NHL in 1994-95 with 22 games for the Flyers. He left hockey in 1996 having scored 2 goals in 35 NHL games.
