The 1963 Riverside 500 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) - Pacific Coast Late Model Series (now West Series) combination event held at Riverside International Raceway on January 20, 1963. It was the season opener for the PCLMS. Dan Gurney won his first career event in dominating fashion, leading 120 of the 185 laps in route to a thirty-six second victory on A.J. Foyt. Eventual season champ Joe Weatherly finished 24th after an oil issue. Stats
