- Laius is an archmage, who wanted to study a certain collection of ancient troll artifacts that supposedly existed in the days of the troll empire. He believed they could be found in the Zuldazar vaults. He learned that the Alliance had disguised a group of adventurers as jungle trolls with magic items; who were being sent to Zuldazar in order to spy on one of the troll's 6-year gatherings to learn about the troll's plans, and determine if the trolls could become allies. Before they headed out on the mission, he took the heroes aside and asked them if they could check the vaults for the scrolls. If the items were lying in the vaults, he wanted to study them.
