The Piréz people (Hungarian: Pirézek) are a fictional people invented by a Hungarian polling company to measure anti-immigration attitudes. In 2006, the Tárki Institut conducted a survey asked whether immigration should be strictly controlled and also attitudes towards the immigration of foreigners, among them the fictional Piréz. The survey revealed that 61% of those who answered believed immigration should be controlled and that 59% thought that the Piréz people should not be allowed to immigrate into Hungary.

The survey revealed that 61% of those who answered believed immigration should be controlled and that 59% thought that the Piréz people should not be allowed to immigrate into Hungary. The survey was repeated in February, 2007, and the result revealed that the adverse reaction against the fictious nation grew to 68%.
