The Piréz people (Hungarian: Pirézek) are a fictional people invented by a Hungarian polling company to measure anti-immigration attitudes. In 2006, the Tárki Institut conducted a survey asked whether immigration should be strictly controlled and also attitudes towards the immigration of foreigners, among them the fictional Piréz. The survey revealed that 61% of those who answered believed immigration should be controlled and that 59% thought that the Piréz people should not be allowed to immigrate into Hungary.
