Richard John Clements (30 July 1891 – 1988) was a social worker, author and lecturer. From Birmingham, he was active in social work from the 1930s. He became the Midland Regional Officer of the National Council of Social Service, and in 1943 he was awarded the OBE in the New Years Honours 1943 for "services to civil defence". In October 1943 he moved to London take up the post of General Secretary to the London Council of Social Service until 1949, when he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the National Council of Social Service.
