In 2368, the USS Enterprise-D encountered and destroyed a Lysian destroyer after being tricked by a Satarran ploy, that intentionally brought the ship and the Federation into the war between the two powers. After making contact with the Lysians, Enterprise Captain Jean-Luc Picard conveyed the Federation's "deepest regrets over the tragedy of their lost ship and crew."
