- A mangonel is a Nilfgaardian siege weapon pretty similar to a northern trebuchet.
- The Mangonel is a defense device.
- Dimok forces used Cargo ferry Mangonel during the Sepan Civil War. Mangonel aided other Dimok starships in raiding a Ripoblus supply convoy in the beginning of the Imperial Sepan campaign. With intent to drive off the Dimok raiders, Imperial TIE Bombers destroyed Cargo ferry Mangonel.
- The Mangonel is the very first of several anti-building, long-ranged siege units that you can create from your siege workshop. And like the first siege machines, it is also the least desirable. For a high cost, and poor rates of fire and armour, and terrible accuracy to boot, you would be asking yourself: why on earth am I buying this unit? to which, there are two answers.
- The Mangonel is best employed in groups of three to ten, behind large buildings, Walls, or Towers in order to avoid being attacked by melee units. Its powerful attack can be devastating to most groups of enemy units, but it is advisable to watch them in battle to prevent friendly fire. Using the attack ground command is useful for Mangonels if the player can predict the movement of enemy troops. The Mangonel is very powerful siege weapon in the Castle Age for three reasons:
